Visiting the website

When you visit our website, your browser transmits certain data to our web server in order to provide you with the information you have called up. In order to enable you to visit the website, the following data is collected, stored for a short time, and used:

Language preference

When you use the language selector to switch between German and English, we store your choice in the technically necessary “holzplus_language” cookie (value “de” or “en”) for up to twelve months. It is used only to respect your preferred language when you later visit the homepage and is not used for analytics or advertising.

Usage analytics with Umami

We use the self-hosted, open-source Umami software on this website only with your consent. It helps us understand which content is used and improve the website accordingly. The analytics service runs at insights.holzplus.com on our own infrastructure; no data is sent to Umami Cloud.

The data processed may include the visited page path without search parameters or fragments, time, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and an approximate location. The IP address is technically processed for transmission and location detection, but is not stored by Umami. Umami assigns requests to anonymous session and visit identifiers calculated from hashes with regularly rotating salts. We do not use analytics cookies, cross-site recognition, persistent or custom personal identifiers, or session recordings.

The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Umami is loaded only after you accept; enabled Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals are respected. Your decision becomes invalid after six months in your browser’s local storage and is removed on your next visit. You can change it and withdraw your consent for the future at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer.

Analytics data is stored exclusively on our self-operated Umami instance. We limit its retention to twelve months and regularly delete older data.
